For over a decade, Eric worked professionally in the commercial broadcast industry in various markets in Northeast Kansas. He was an on air radio personality as well as dance club and mobile D.J. "Since returning to the Kansas City area, I absolutely love coming home to my D.J. roots and working for Complete Music."
1. Why do you enjoy performing at wedding receptions? Celebrating a wedding is a hopeful time filled with joy and love. I like to create a fun, positive and hopeful environment where the bride and groom can relax and truly celebrate with family and friends.
2. Why do you enjoy performing at anniversaries & reunions? "To everything there is a season," including a chance to look back and remember. I like to provide the soundtrack for the journey of reflection.
3. How do you make sure the hosts are enjoying your performance? If at all possible, I like to start with a person to person sit down before the event. This builds a little relationship and opens communication.Throughout the event, I regularly touch base with the couple to assess the flow and if any adjustments are needed.
4. What type of personality do you have? My natural personality is outgoing with a little moderation. When working a dance, I try to match the energy of the event.I draw on years of performing / entertaining experience to help me read the vibe of the crowd and adjust accordingly.
5. Why do you enjoy working at Complete Music? I enjoy working for a company that places value on a professional approach and strives to deliver a quality product.
6. What makes you unique as a DJ? I have always enjoyed presenting and performing all kinds of music.I began playing guitar at age 14.Over the years, I have played in a variety of bands and ensembles, as well as solo efforts.I was a D.J. at age 20, working in clubs and mobile situations.I've performed as a musician or D.J. at community and corporate events, churches, reunions, retirement communities, nursing homes, summer camps, and colleges.Whether it's classic pop standards, old time rock and roll or the very latest sounds; I love sharing music.
7. Give an example of one of your best moments as a DJ? One night, the bride and groom were running late, and there were a bunch of kids at the reception, getting more than just a little crazy.I got all the kids doing an "air guitar" contest to Hanna Montana. The kids were happy, the adults were relived and when the couple arrived, the energy was electric. The rest of the night rocked.
9. What is your #1 goal at your dances? A dance is made up of all kinds of personalities, plus all the sights, sounds, colors, motion and emotions. My goal is to weave everything together, creating a fun, memorable and happy event for you and your guests. |
